Ham and Cheese Lasagna

Ham and Cheese Lasagna

Hey there, everyone! We are getting better slowly, but surely… My hubby’s skin is still changing colors around his eye, but he is ok now. Let’s say that although he is a big guy, he becomes such a big baby when he gets sick or something, don’t know if your partners act likewise, but his flu always seems like the end of the world. 🙂 We both lost 2 kg this week, so we need to eat a lot of pasta now to get back that 2 kg. Oh yes, it will be my pleasure!!

Ham and Cheese Lasagna

Today I prepared pasta with broccoli and tuna, but as my son hates all the green vegetables that exist on this planet and I have no clue on how to make him eat it, so I prepared this simple and relatively quick lasagna for him. Well, arugula on the photo finished on our plates and not in his little choosy stomach, but at least there was no trace of lasagna… he ate it in a blink of an eye!

Ham and Cheese Lasagna

My favorite lasagna recipes are the one made with mushrooms and pumpkin and the classic Lasagna Alla Bolognese recipe. Those two are the ones that I prepare very often, but this one is also super creamy. My secret to a good lasagna is “more is more”, I add great amounts of cheese and besciamella sauce and again cheese, cheese and more cheese! I have to admit that you could have some hard time breathing after eating this lasagna (just kidding), it is not a light meal, so if you are looking for something light and easily digestible, now is the time to close this post and start reading something like Pasta with grilled vegetables. 🙂

Ham and Cheese Lasagna

Lasagna recipes are easy to prepare, but they take some time to cook, and you should let them cool for at least 15 to 20 minutes. If you prepare it in a large baking dish and you don’t finish it, don’t worry, almost all types of lasagna are even tastier the day after! I use fresh lasagna noodles only if I prepare it at home, but mostly I use dried regular lasagna noodles and I never boil it before assembling the lasagna, it is such a waste of time… You can simply assemble it all and the noodles will be ready and well cooked anyway, but the thing is that you need to add a lot of cream and cheese. When there is not much sauce the pasta will not be cooked. So this is why I never cook it before, I add loads of sauce – more is more – in this case! I prepare it like this for years without boiling and they are absolutely delicious. You can also find some no-cook lasagna sheets and prepare it with those ones or cover the baking sheet with an aluminium foil and uncover 15 minutes before they are ready. Really yummy! But the best lasagna I prepare is definitely the classic Lasagna Alla Bolognese (I will prepare it soon and post the recipe), you really must try that recipe.

Enjoy your pasta and let me know what is your favorite lasagna recipe.
