Hi there everyone! Well, today was a pretty happy day as finally managed to make my son eat something green! Oh yes! I don’t know if it was the smell of melted cheese and sausage, but whatever it was, thank you! At first, I wanted to prepare some pasta with broccoli and bacon convinced that I had it in the fridge but no… So I thought that sausages would make a perfect substitute and yes, they were. This is a super yummy and tasty recipe, although I will have to try it again and add some cooking cream, because I think it will taste even better. Let’s say that this is a light version of what I initially wanted to prepare… uhm… Did I just wrote that a recipe with sausages is a light version… of what?? Of a creamy sausage pasta recipe 🙂
I prefer to buy locally grown fruits and vegetables and in the winter time, fresh produce is quite limited, so I choose to buy frozen veggies. Some say that they are as nutrient and healthy as the fresh ones, so I’m happy to hear that. I often buy frozen broccoli and another thing that I like about it is that you can prepare them in only 5 minutes, so if I’m in a hurry and I have to prepare something in 15 to 20 minutes, they are definitely a perfect choice.
For this recipe, I used smoked sausage because it gives more flavor to it, but you can also use boiled ones. If you prefer of simply have just fresh sausages, the preparation of the broccoli and sausage pasta recipe would be a bit different as you would need to break up the sausage, cook it with wine and then add broccoli or you should boil the sausage before. If you have little time, you can just add the cheese in a skillet and toss well to coat, without putting the whole mixture in the oven.
Enjoy your pasta! 🙂
